Art At The Beach… a birthday shed for Jeanni

Some updates are small in size, but large in meaning.

This week, Art At The Beach has a lovely new shed at Betty’s Surf Store in Mawgan Porth… and it arrived perfectly in time for my birthday.

I want to say a huge thank you to Stuart and everyone at Betty’s for their kindness, generosity and support. After eight lovely years with my gallery in the shop next to Cornish Fresh, that chapter came to an end. Betty’s gave Art At The Beach a new home, and for the last two years I have been based there in such a friendly, kind and supportive environment.

Jamie helped dismantle the old shed, Stuart helped with the new signage, and Kat and Jay have been wonderfully kind and helpful too. They are such an amenable, friendly team… generous, supportive and always easy to communicate with.

A special thank you also to Andrew for allowing me to put my new sign by the car park, helping people find me more easily.

Having been part of Mawgan Porth for 10 years now, it means so much to continue painting, teaching, chatting and sharing artwork at the top of the beach, past the bridge.

Many of you will have seen me there over the years in my funny hat, painting away, talking to passers-by, teaching lessons, and enjoying this beautiful Cornish beach.

Art At The Beach has always been about more than a place to store easels, canvases and paint. It is about people, conversations, confidence, memory, creativity and the joy of helping people see the world differently.

From paintings of Mawgan Porth and Cornwall to art lessons on the beach, everything begins with observation… learning to see, understand and translate the beauty around us into artwork.

I look forward to seeing you on the beach for art lessons, artwork, or a friendly chat.
