Bringing Our Own Rainbow to Mawgan Porth
The smiles say it all! 🌈🎨😊
It may have been a dull day at Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, but these fabulous smiles certainly illuminated the stage at the Merrymoor Inn… and when the Cornish weather forgot to provide a rainbow, this young gentleman thoughtfully brought his own!
There is something rather lovely about painting the landscape when the weather isn’t picture perfect. As an artist, learning to really look at what is in front of you, rather than relying on an idea of what a beach or seascape “should” look like, is an important part of learning to paint.
During our Art at the Beach painting lesson, each artist created their own little interpretation of Mawgan Porth. Three artists, three individual artworks and plenty of laughter, learning and colour along the way.
Grey skies certainly didn’t mean a grey day. Between the paintings, those wonderful smiles and one very cheerful rainbow sweatshirt, there was more than enough colour to go around! 🌈🌊🎨
A huge thank you to the Merrymoor Inn at Mawgan Porth for once again providing such a welcoming place for us to paint when the Cornish weather had other ideas.
