Before, During and After Painting at Mawgan Porth

Before, During and After Painting at Mawgan Porth

Before… During… After! 😄🎨

Sometimes three photographs tell a story better than words ever could.

This morning at Mawgan Porth began with three lovely ladies arriving full of smiles, excitement and curiosity about what the day might bring.

The first photograph captures that moment perfectly. Fresh faces, bright sunshine and the anticipation of spending a morning by the sea with a paintbrush in hand.

Then came the second photograph… and complete chaos!

Getting everyone into their protective overalls somehow became a comedy sketch. Instead of looking like artists preparing to paint, we looked more like a conga line making its way across the beach. Before a single brush had touched the canvas, we were already laughing.

Those moments are often the best part of the day. They remind us that learning doesn't have to be serious all the time. A relaxed atmosphere, plenty of humour and shared laughter make it much easier to enjoy the experience.

One of the funniest moments came when I jokingly nicknamed one of the ladies Sherlock Holmes because she was spotting every little clue in the landscape as we observed the beach together.

None of us expected what came next.

She smiled and told us she'd actually been a police officer, working beside the building associated with Sherlock Holmes.

What are the chances!

It's funny how little coincidences like that can make an already enjoyable morning even more memorable.

The final photograph shows the perfect ending… three smiling ladies, each proudly holding the painting they had created themselves.

Thank you all for the laughter, the stories and such wonderful company. I hope every time you look at your paintings you'll remember not only the beach and the colours of the sea… but also the conga line, Sherlock Holmes and all the giggles we shared along the way.

Sometimes the memories created while making a painting become just as special as the painting itself.
