A Crashing Wave and a Mawgan Porth Love Story

One of the greatest joys of being an artist in Mawgan Porth is discovering where my paintings eventually find their homes.

My original Crashing Wave at Mawgan Porth was recently bought online as a very special birthday present… and the story behind it made selling the painting even more memorable.

Her husband contacted me secretly and organised the whole surprise. Rather wonderfully, we arranged for his wife to actually receive her birthday painting on the beach at Mawgan Porth, where it had been painted.

It was such a lovely moment to be part of. Sometimes you get those little reminders that true love really does exist! ❤️

As an artist in Cornwall, I spend so much time looking at the sea, studying the movement of the water and trying to capture that wonderful combination of power, light and translucency in my artwork. Once a painting leaves me, knowing that it has gone somewhere it will be loved makes parting with an original considerably easier.

And for everyone who was disappointed to discover that the original Crashing Wave painting had already sold… I do have prints available.
