From nine years old to six foot five… boys, girls and miles of smiles!
What a fantastic morning painting on the beach at beautiful Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, with this wonderful family of six.
There were so many amazing answers, lots of laughter and plenty of learning as we looked carefully at the landscape around us and explored how to turn what we could see into paint.
By the end of our two hours together, there were six fantastic acrylic paintings… and six very proud artists!
One of the things I love most about teaching is watching confidence grow. It’s not only about learning to be good at art… it’s about learning to observe, understanding what you’re looking at, trusting your own judgement and enjoying the journey.
Just look at those smiles! They say far more than I ever could, and everyone was so thrilled with their paintings. It’s rather lovely to have my smile in the photograph too… I’m usually the one behind the camera!
I hope these paintings will become wonderful reminders of a happy family morning spent together at Mawgan Porth.
