Art Lesson in Mawgan Porth… From Looking to Seeing

There’s a moment in every lesson that I wait for… and it’s always different for each person.

It’s not when the painting looks “nice”… and it’s not when everything is neat and tidy.

It’s the moment something clicks.

This lovely lady came for a relaxed painting session… but what happened was far more powerful.

We worked through some simple principles… how things fade into the distance… how strength sits in the foreground… how to guide the eye naturally through a painting.

And then it happened.

That quiet pause… where you can almost see the understanding land.

From that point on… everything changes.

You’re no longer guessing… you’re seeing.

And once you see… you can apply it to anything.

That’s why I teach the fundamentals… the grammar, spelling and punctuation of art.

Because once you see it you cant unsee it.
