There’s something magical about painting on the beach, surrounded by the very landscape you're capturing.
In this lesson, we focused on perspective — and how to really see it. My student lined up their easel so the horizon in the painting matched the horizon of the sea behind it. When you get that alignment right, everything else starts to fall into place. It’s not just about looking. It’s about seeing — and then trusting what you see.
We used the natural world as our guide. Observing where the land meets the sky, how angles shift with distance, how colour fades with space. It’s a moment when art, physics and awareness come together.
This is what I teach. Not just how to draw or paint — but how to see the world differently. With focus. With clarity. With joy.
Fancy giving it a go?
Join me on the beach or online. You’ll never see the horizon the same way again.
