Finished at Mawgan Porth
Finished… and still sitting right where it was painted, looking out across beautiful Mawgan Porth, Cornwall.
There’s something rather special about painting the sea beside the sea… watching the light constantly change, the waves build and break, and discovering all those unexpected colours within the water.
This new Mawgan Porth seascape is acrylic on canvas, measuring 1m × 50cm, painted by me, Jeanni.
Painting en plein air gives you something a photograph never quite can. The sea is constantly moving, the colours shift from moment to moment and the light changes everything. You have to observe, make decisions and really look at what is happening in front of you.
For me, that is one of the joys of both being an artist in Cornwall and teaching art here at Mawgan Porth. Art is about far more than making a picture. It gives us a reason to slow down, become curious and notice things we might otherwise walk straight past.
And today… this one is finished. 😊🎨🌊
