Mist over the Cliffs, Mawgan Porth
A moody day at Mawgan Porth, Cornwall… windy, misty and with the first real taste of autumn in the air.
The cliffs seemed to soften into the distance as the mist moved across the bay, while flashes of blue still appeared through the water below. It was one of those days when the whole coastline seemed quieter and more atmospheric.
Mawgan Porth is so often associated with bright skies, open beach and sparkling water, but I also love these softer days when the weather changes the whole feeling of the landscape.
This original artwork was painted in acrylic on canvas and was such fun to work on. I wanted to capture that sense of movement in the weather, the muted colours, and the feeling of looking out across the bay as the cliffs disappear into the mist.
