Mother and Daughter Painting in Mawgan Porth

A lovely mother and daughter duo spent the afternoon hiding from the Cornish raindrops at the Merrymoor Inn in Mawgan Porth… and having fun with paint instead.

When the weather changes in Cornwall, the artwork does not have to stop. We simply swapped the beach for a cosy indoor space, brushes, colour and plenty of laughter.

There is something particularly lovely about a mother and daughter painting together. Each person sees things slightly differently, makes different choices and creates an artwork that belongs completely to them.

For me, art lessons are never about everyone producing the same picture. They are about learning to look, understand what you are seeing and then having the confidence to make your own decisions with paint.

So while the rain fell outside in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, we spent the afternoon creating, chatting and enjoying a little mother and daughter time through art.

Sometimes a rainy Cornish afternoon turns out rather well after all.
