From Online Learning to Painting on Mawgan Porth Beach
A beautiful sunny day on Mawgan Porth Beach in Cornwall… and a very special moment shared between a father and daughter.
He had been working through my online art course… learning how to truly see and understand what’s in front of him…
This was the first time we met face to face… and he brought his daughter along… who hadn’t painted since school.
Within just three hours on the beach… both were standing in front of their canvases having created something remarkable…
The headland… the ocean… the sky… the sand… the movement of the water… all there… observed and understood rather than guessed.
This is what happens when you learn the fundamentals of art… not copying what you think you see… but understanding what is actually there.
And perhaps more importantly… sharing that experience together…
These are the moments that stay with you… long after the lesson ends… long after the paint has dried.
As an artist in Cornwall and teaching on Mawgan Porth Beach… I see this transformation time and time again…
If you’ve ever felt like you can’t paint… or that you lost it somewhere along the way… it’s often not ability… it’s simply how you’ve been taught to look.
Once that changes… everything changes…
You can start online… or join me on the beach… and I’ll also be there in the background afterwards… offering ongoing 5–10 minute support whenever you need it.
