One Set of Principles... Endless Possibilities

People often ask how I can paint and teach so many different subjects and in so many different styles.

The answer is surprisingly simple... they're all built on the same core principles and patterns.

Whether it's a portrait, a landscape, wildlife, architecture, abstract art or a seascape, the foundations remain the same.

Over the years, those same principles have helped me work with numerous organisations, as well as individuals of all ages, abilities and disabilities. On the surface they all seem very different, yet the same underlying principles apply throughout.

We live in a world where we're often encouraged to focus on our differences. Yet I've found that the similarities are often far greater. When we recognise the principles and patterns that connect things, understanding becomes transferable.

That doesn't replace refined skill or creativity... it enhances them.

Every painting you see here required different techniques, different decisions and years of experience. The difference is that they're all built on the same foundations, allowing me... and my students... to develop our own unique styles rather than simply copying someone else's.

That's what I love teaching... not how to paint one picture, but how to understand the principles that allow you to paint thousands.

Knowledge doesn't replace creativity... it liberates it.
